At A&M Provisions, if you want that something special, chances are you will find it.
A&M Provisions is a new, upscale specialty food market in Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina, located at 9 Harbourside Drive, Suite F, around the corner from San Miguel’s and next door to Frosty’s. The store specializes in items such as specialty meats, cheese, salami, bean to bar chocolate, vinegar, olive oil and much more.
A&M Provisions has award-winning products from all over the world. These are unique, well-crafted foods for cooking, eating and entertainment, or special gatherings and holidays. A&M is particularly appealing to foodies who prefer to incorporate diverse ingredients into their recipes and meals.
A&M Provisions provides the newest and best products in the specialty food market, including offerings such as:
Award-winning small batch food items from around the United States and the world
Large selection of artisan salami, rotating farmstead cheeses and hand-made crackers
Specialty meats, including wagyu beef, duck, rabbit, bacons, sausages, and game meats
Fresh ramen noodles
Imported and domestic olive oils and vinegars, bean to bar chocolates
Heirloom Rancho Gordo beans and gourmet organic Anson Mills grains
Hand-crafted cocktail shrubs and bitters
Pantry items such as chutneys, jams, pickles, sauces, honeys, maple syrups, salts and spices
Gourmet gifts and baskets
In addition, A&M Provisions also supports other businesses that are passionate about how their food is sourced and handcrafted. “We only have one distributor,” said Anne Fitzgerald. “We have relationships with the people making the products. That’s how we know so much about the product, because we have those individual relationships.”
“We’re a little more nimble than bigger grocery stores,” said Maury Fitzgerald. “I can order something tomorrow from a small new company making a great unique product, whereas larger stores have to work with companies that mass produce a product. We also work with family owned international producers and importers to source product from outside the U.S.”
In 2012, the Fitzgerald’s debuted Fresh 24, an organic grocery store in Orlando, Fla., where the couple lived for 20 years. They later rebranded as A&M Provisions.
The couple had vacationed in the Lowcountry for years. One day, Anne told Maury: “I’ve always wanted to move to Hilton Head.”
A&M’s current hours are 10 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Saturday, although the Fitzgerald’s say they may go to seven days a week during tourist season. They are also adding a unique offering of wine and craft beers next month. Be sure to stop in after the next event at Shelter Cove.
